AB Steak is another establishment  by Chef Akira Back. The Korean American chef whose culinary success brought us finest dining experiences around the world and here in Jakarta. One of his venture that you may have known is Akira Back restaurant in the same MD building Kuningan.

AB Steak is only open for dinner time. I will say that the place is a fancy looking modern style Japanese restaurant that’s pretty tasteful in abstract art and minimalist feature. I love how they put colors above the ceiling for that extra touch up. Although it’s not too big, the restaurant can hold enough parties and another couple for private seatings.

Tuna Yukke

Tuna Yukke (IDR 95.000): Tiny cute looking dish of cucumber, sesame sauce, scallion muchim and seaweed Bugak. It’s crunchy and fresh.

Corn and Cheese

Corn and Cheese (IDR 135.000): Corn and Parmesan cheese on roasted bone marrow. Fragrant, creamy, savory dish that I can’t get enough of.

30 Days Prime Ribeye (IDR 360.000/150 gr): Gorgeous looking steak, juicy, tender, melts in my mouth.

USA Fillet Mignon (IDR 460.000/200 gr): Love the soft texture of the top grade meat, very simple flavor that’s to die for.

Dessert:

Butter Mochi Cake

Butter Mochi Cake (IDR 65.000): Mochi cake with Salted Caramel Popcorn Macadamias and Coconut Sorbet. Although it’s good, the cake itself tasted more like Indonesian “Wingko Babat”. Love the velvety sorbet.

Valrhona Guanaja Molten Souffle (IDR 150.000): This chocolate souffle was so rich in flavor. Wonderful crisp top and gooey middle, and the ice cream was good too.

There’s nothing bad that I can say about AB Steak except for maybe the price range. But I guess with top quality food you can’t expect less. I love this place and will put it on my Top 10 list.
