What’s Jakarta without new restaurants? Recently I visited Birdman, a new eatery by the same group that brought Olivier and Monolog-to name a few. This brand new establishment is a Japanese dining, with only a few lunch set menus ready by the time I visited-as this is their soft opening. Birdman has a clean looking, minimalist all grey interior, and superior in Japanese modern style.
Here’s some of the menu that I’ve ordered today:
Beef Kalbi Potato (IDR 130.000): Set menu with rice, soup, cabbage salad, pickles, sauce, drinks, Beef Kalbi and Potato Croquette. The beef kalbi was marinated well, tender and juicy. The Croquette was also good, with crispy breaded coating and velvety tasty potato and beef filling.
Chicken Sumiyaki (IDR 88.000): Set menu with rice, soup, cabbage salad, pickles, drinks , Sumiyaki chicken. The charcoal grilled chicken thigh was cooked nicely, good flavor wise too.
Birdman is obviously just hatched and hasn’t spread its wings yet, although there’s good quality that I’ve noticed on my first visit here. I’m looking forward to see its bright future and will revisit it soon.
