Gyu Kaku Prime is a Japanese-Korean fusion BBQ restaurant, located in Pacific Place, quite secluded cause the entrance is on the outside corner (behind The Pappilon Duo). This place isn’t new but it’s recently renovated, so the interior is still radiantly fresh and clean, unlike the other branch that I prefer not to say. Surprisingly the interior is fun and youthful, doesn’t really match the rather formal-high priced menu, but hey, I always dig the cute giant birdcage dining table, where ever they may be. There are also two private rooms with wooden separations for those who need to bring their work in the dining hours. The menu here also includes set menus with various prices like the Wagyu Trial Plater (IDR 1.098.000), 2 Pax Fuku Set for IDR 1.488.000, and others. Today I settled on the a la carte menu instead.
Horenzo Tomato Salad (IDR 73.000): Japanese style Spinach topped with button mushrooms, fried garlic chips, tomato and creamy Sesame dressing. My favorite salad here, the veggies were crisp and fresh, the dressing was savory and delightful.
Garlic Noodle (IDR 80.000): Stir fried garlic noodle quite similar to Korean Chap Chae but more garlic and chili. The noodle was nicely chewy with strong flavor.
Assorted Mushroom Foil (IDR 68.000): Assorted mushroom marinated in butter sauce and baked in aluminum foil.
Tzubo Zuke Karubi (IDR 218.000): Pot marinated beef short ribs. The meat was tender and juicy and marinated well.
US Beef Karubi (IDR 258.000/Large): Juicy, succulent and all good.
Gyu Kaku Prime has great selection of beef, great place for Carnivores like me. Although the price range might be higher than the others, I think it’s alright to indulge in expensive food every now and then, especially if it’s worth every penny.
