Strolling around Kemang area,I’ve discovered this new place on the left side of Talent’s Hair salon Kemang. When I found out that Warung Turki has the same owner as Turkuaz restaurant, I was ecstatic! I love Turkish food and this place is like the mini version of Turkuaz, with first level for the smoking area, second level for the non-smokers and third-top level for the night life/other events. By night life I meant Shisha bar / Turkish water pipe smoking vessels and other life entertainments. The restaurant’s interior is very similar to Turkuaz, thick Turkish accent that you can immediately sense-like the Evil eye decorations, mosaic tiles and colorful glass lamps with different shapes. Cute intriguing details like the smart use of old soup pans as lamp shades also caught my eyes. Very creative indeed. The food here is authentic and freshly made, especially the Turkish flat bread that they cooked by order,in the giant wood fire oven.
Gavurdagi Salatasi (IDR 65.000): Cucumber tomatoes and walnuts with pomegranate sauce and extra virgin Turkish olive oil. All the vegetables were chopped nicely and evenly, I like the acidity that added the flavor to the whole dish. Simply refreshing.
Peynirli Pide (IDR 65.000): All time favorite Turkish thin bread with feta cheese and mozzarella topped with parsley. You can really taste the fresh cooked dough, excellent quality of cheeses. Might be too salty for some, but worked well for me.
Dana Sis Kebab Plated (IDR 135.000): Marinated beef cubes wrapped with thin bread, served with chopped shallots on the side. The beef was tender and bold in taste, the bread was delicious too.
Karides Izgara (IDR 155.000): Marinated prawns served with Vermicelli rice. The prawns were fragrant and flavorful. The rice was also nicely cooked with a hint of spice. It’s wonderful.
