I’m not an expert in Mexican food, but as they said “No need to be an expert to enjoy good food”, so yes! I enjoyed the hearty tacos, fulfilling enchiladas, moreish nachos and delectable quesadillas in this small but unpretentious Taco Casa, Seminyak, Bali.
Taco Casa is a favorite among locals, expats and tourists for their tortillas, guacamole, pico de gallo salsa, enchilada and hot sauce, beans, taco shells, corn chips, taco salad bowls and dressings which are all made from scratch with fresh ingredients and contain no MSG or preservatives.
Their menu is quite simple, basically their main course are
1) Tacos (Soft or Crispy)
6) Wet Burritos
7) Tacos Salad Bowl and
8) Fiesta Salad
And for each menu above you can choose whether you want to have it regular or with veggie or you can top it up with beef, chicken or shrimp. I like it when a place limits its menu and does those things well as Taco Casa did.
Our meal began with the Nachos Grande (IDR 56K), and from the first bite, bursting with refried beans, guacamole, sour cream, cheddar cheese, pico de gallo, jalepenos, I knew our tastebuds were in business.
If I’m asked, “what’s your favorite menu at Taco Casa?,” my reply without hesitation would be this one, The Chicken Quesadillas (IDR 52K), where the homemade flour tortillas filled with the zesty chicken are a succulent delight when mixed with the melted cheddar cheese. It was perfectly served with guacamole, pico de gallo salsa and sour cream. Like like like!!
As the name implies, they do great-looking tacos of course. In two different occasions, I tried their Soft Tacos (soft flour tortillas) and Crispy Tacos (crispy corn taco shell), both with chicken (IDR 59K). But in my opinion, the Soft Tacos matched best with grilled well-seasoned cubes of tenderloin, cheddar cheese, freshly shredded lettuce and pico de gallo salsa. It served with black beans and sour cream on the side. It held a lot of snappy flavours, it’s like a fiesta in your mouth.
The Cheesy Enchiladas with Beef (IDR 71K) is an awesome grilled meat, smothered with lots of homemade bell pepper salsa and topped with a great deal of mozzarella cheese. It’s a deliciously creamy satisfying meal.
All food were well presented and amazing in taste mainly due to the fresh ingredients that they guarantee and they came as a considerable portion.
Everything at Taco Casa Seminyak, left me completely satisfied, defiantly can’t wait to return….and talking about this now, doesn’t help at all.
Taco Casa isn’t the flashiest joint around, but what it may lack in neon murals or mega-margarita glasses, it compensate for with simple, amazing Mexican food with reasonable prices.
So if you love Mexican you HAVE to try at least eat once at Taco Casa!
