With a name like that, it’s hard to miss Ristorante Da Valentino’s existence. Founded and originated in Singapore on 1995, Chef Valentino and his Italian family started the business and it has been expanded ever since. Recently the authentic Italian restaurant has open it’s door in our own backyard-so to speak-, in MD building (the same place as Akira Back) to be precise. Taken straight to 11th floor by the fancy marbled elevator, I was amazed to see such a romantic interior and decor of this place. Everything about this place speaks ‘Amare’. From the rustique Italian gate, velvety red -high back dining chairs to the fresh flower arrangements and the Italian country side mural, I felt like Cupid is hiding somewhere here to choose his next target.:-) It’s obvious how this restaurant is ready for fine dining and special occasions with the availability of many of it’s private rooms (with minimum order of IDR 8M and up). FYI, they also currently provide Lunch Set Menus, including Vegetarian menu with price ranges from IDR 220.000 to IDR 299.000.
Burrata (IDR 395.000): Fresh baby tomatoes with Burrata (Italian cheese made of Mozzarella and cream) and Caviar on top. A simple yet elegant starter, made with the finest ingredients.
Penne con Pollo e Pomodorini Secchi (IDR 185.000): Al dente penne pasta with creamy tomato sauce and delicious sundried tomatoes. You can also add chopped chili to spicy it up more. The result..Delizioso!
Risotto ai Funghi Porcini ( IDR 255.000): Traditional Italian rice cooked with hand picked mushrooms. The risotto rice was a little undercooked for my liking, but the sauce was really tasty and the mushrooms were also delightful.
Parma Rucola Porcini (IDR 270.000): Thin crust pizza with Parma Ham, Porcini and Rocket Salad. Super rich savory Parma ham with simple tomato sauce, yummy mushrooms and fresh veggies.
Tagliata (IDR 420.000): Italian sliced tenderloin steak with simple seasoning. It’s effortless, juicy and just fantastic.
Fettucine Al Granchio (IDR 195.000): Ristorante Da Valentino’s signature squid ink fettucine with crabmeat in creamy tomato sauce. One bite and I was hooked. The pasta was freshly made, al dente and scrumptious, with generous amount of delicious crabmeat and the sauce that’s to die for.
Chantilly (IDR 80.000): I was surprised to find an American cake here but it was all good. The vanilla sponge cake was moist, the cream was light without being too sweet. Love the additional chocolate chips that gave it a ‘kick’ to a really simple cake.
Tiramisu (IDR 95.000): Served in a tall cocktail glass, the tiramisu was rich, creamy and the balance between the cream and the coffee cream was nice.
Panna Cotta (IDR 95.000): Beautiful panna cotta with spun sugar dome. Gorgeous looking and pleasing in every single way.
