Don Felix is a Peruvian restaurant in the outskirts of Los Angeles. The area isn’t very fancy but this old restaurant has been a hit for many of it’s loyal customers for 23 years. It started as a small eatery and expanded it’s place throughout the years. I myself has visited this place for a few times and I find it quite a memorable experience, every time I came back. Specialized in Peruvian seafood, I also find it serving Italian fusion food like pasta.
Calamares Fritos ($12.00): Deep fried squid, with onions and tomato salsa. They make one of the best calamari in town. In fact, my son first learn to eat his seafood (and love it) because of this one particular dish. And we’ve been coming back ever since.
Pescado A Lo Macho ($15.95): Seafood combo includes fried fish, sauteed onions, and tomatoes served with steamed white rice. The seafood was all fresh, I especially enjoyed their fried fish that was lighty coated. It’s superb.
Arroz Chufa De Pollo ($12.00): Chicken strips mixed in fried rice with scrambled eggs and green onions. If you compare it to the Chinese style fried rice, it’s kinda bland in taste, but the rice has the nice texture and simple taste. It’s quite good.
Saltado De Pollo ($12.00): Chicken strips sauteed, with onions and tomatoes french fries served with steamed white rice. The chicken was fried and sauteed in a sweet and tangy sauce-more like a Chinese soy sauce.
