I walked pass this Japanese Italian restaurant in Grand Indonesia and was immediately attracted by the fresh canopy and the open space seating area that’s visible from outside. At lunch time, the place is quite busy, but still accepting walk-ins. The service here is fast and helpful.
Japanese Mushroom Salad (IDR 32.000):Mixed green, cherry tomatoes, Bunashimeji and Eringi mushroom served with Japanese dressing and Kizami Nori. The dressing is a little salty but still have the acidity and freshness.
Aglio Olio Japanese Mushroom (IDR 55.000): Aglio olio with Japanese mushroom and smoked beef. Popolamama’s special pasta is made from Durum Wheat ground into Semolina flour which provides a unique tasting pasta. The noodle is al dente but also have that extra chewy texture that you can find in Japanese/Chinese noodles. The seasoning is also tasty and savory.
Bolognese Potato Gratin (IDR 33.000): Potatoes, bolognese sauce baked with cheddar and mozzarella cheese. There’s nothing special about this dish.
Beef Pepperoni Pizza (IDR 65.000): Pizza with pepperoni, mixed cheese and tomato sauce. Although the topping is good, the pizza is greasy, wet, and too oily for me. It’s disappointing.
