I was very curious when I’ve heard about the Business Lunch Set Menu (IDR 220.000++) available at Lyon, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Jakarta. Very reasonable price for such a high-end restaurant. So like any enthusiastic foodie, I rushed there as soon as I can. The set menu consisted of an appetizer, one choice of main course and one dessert. The food here still holds up it’s reputable quality, taste and presentation.



Cream of Tomato Soup: Basil pestou and vegetable lavosh. Creamy tomato soup with a Middle Eastern style cracker.Delicious.

Beetroot and Orange Salad: Greek Peta cheese, orange segment, Raspberry, spinach and balsamic reduction. Fresh looking and tasting too. A little to acidic for me but a great way to refresh your tastebud before a heavy meal.


Main Course:

Veal Leg Blanquette with spring vegetables: Veal leg cooked in a French ragout of white meat cooked in a white stock or water with aromatic flavorings. The veal itself is super tender it melts in your mouth.

Fillet of Barramundi “Dieppoise” with Bouchot mussels and green asparagus: Barramundi garnished with sauce made with crayfish tails and mussels served with white wine sauce.

Free Range Chicken with Kabocha squash, mushrooms and rocket leaves: Very tender white meat chicken, perfectly seasoned.



Valrhona Guanaja: Grand Cru chocolate with Raspberry. Moist cake with strong chocolate flavor made perfect with flavorful raspberry. It’s a shame that the size was to tiny for me.
