Along with the incoming trend of macarons in Indonesia last year, A French patissier opened up a cute little store at the back corner of the alleys at Paris Van Java mall. The window display is adorned by a fancy macaron tower, a miniature eiffel tower and other products such as tarts and other small desserts.

Since I am a self-proclaimed macaron lover, I have tried macarons from many different places, including but not limited to Pierre Herme, Laduree, and Adriano Zumbo. What I love most about macaron is its soft scent and flavor combined with the right balance of crunchiness and chewiness, makes it melt in your mouth and leaving a perfect after taste.

The name of the store obviously stated that macarons are their main products. Therefore, I came by and purchased several of their macarons with a lot of doubts yet a few expectations. The way I feel was shaped by the fact that the patissier is from French and yet I have been disappointed many times by local macaron providers even from big names in Jakarta hence my skeptical attitude.

The first bite of their macarons cleared up all questions of its worthiness. Even though the consistency of its surface texture and size were not that good, the balance of the crunchiness-chewiness and its flavor were above average. I think they did a quite good job with the macaron. At IDR 10.000 a piece, I would consider it worth it.
