Located strategical at SCBD area, Kei is easy to spot. Actually there are 3 restaurants in one building. Kei on the right hand of the eatery, Chopstick on the left side and Blue Monkey restaurant on the second floor. The simplicity of this eatery is very well suitable for Jakarta’s young and busy day life. Although the food at Kei is average in taste (for me personally),the price is quite reasonable for Japanese in Jakarta area.

Chuka Wakame Salad (IDR 15.000): Seaweed salad tossed with sesame dressing. Good tasting, fresh seaweed salad.

Salmon Skin Salad (IDR 60.000): Lettuce with Japanese Ponzu dressing and crunchy salmon skin topping. The dressing is too salty for me.

Black Dragon Roll (IDR 89.000): Shrimp tempura, cucumber, avocado, topped with fresh water eel. The sushi rice is a little soggy, but the sauce and the tempura is delicious.

Chicken Katsu Curry (IDR 59.000): Chicken breast deep fried in panko breadcrumbs, served with curry sauce. Delicious crunchy chicken katsu, but there’s nothing special about the curry.


Beef and Enoki (IDR 18.000): Enoki mushrooms rolled with beef teriyaki sauce. it’s delicious but the portion is very small, smaller than average.

Eggplant (IDR 8000): the eggplant wasn’t cooked well, it’s hard and bland.

Salmon and Asparagus (IDR 22.000): Some of the asparagus is tough, but the salmon itself is good.
