The new Immigrant Dining Room is so enticing and looking like a million bucks. The gorgeous lighting, black and white pictures on the wall and the fancy booths – mirroring the golden Hollywood era, gave me the feeling of Avant-garde. The menu still as variant as I remember although more sophiscicated ones are added. FYI, I was there as a regular customer (like always) and not a food blogger, so I can taste everything without the special treatment and give an honest review (at least in my point of view). I can also tell you that the service is wonderful and very helpful.
Chicken Salad (IDR 80.000): Grilled marinated chicken breast, roasted bell peppers, zucchini, eggplant, tomatoes, cucumber, mixed lettuce tossed with Asian-inspired spicy soy vinaigrette.
Portobello Mushroom (IDR 70.000): Baked with smoked beef chorizo, mozzarella cheese, thyme and double cream. I like every dish with mushrooms, but sometimes they could taste grainy if wasn’t clean right.This particular one is extremely delicious. The mushroom is tasty and the toppings really complimented the portobello without over powering it.
Gnocchi Con Piccione (IDR 110.000): Potato gnocchi with Italian corn-fed pigeon stew served with black truffle and Parmesan shavings. The sauce is tasty and fresh, the gnocchi is soft and delish,the only thing that bothers me is the size of it. Each pieces are a little too big.Iga Bakar Bali (IDR 210.000): Balinese inspired barbecued ribs with steam rice, salad, soup and extra sambal on the side. Tender and succulant beef ribs, Love the sambal/spicy Balinese chili paste.The portion is huge and perfect for sharing amongs girls.
Blackmore Burger (IDR 150.000): Wagyu beef patty with French ‘Rougie’ Foei Gras and Truffle cheese burger. Delicious juicy gourmet burger.
Iga Bakar bumbu Bali (IDR 210.000): Balinese insipred Barbecued Ribs. Beef ribs marinated with Balinese sambal/chili paste with steamed rice, additional sambal, clear vegetable soup and lalapan (salad) on the side. The beef was tender, savory, juicy and full of flavor. One bite and I was hooked on this.
Upside Down Apple Tart (IDR 70.000): A classic tart tartin with spiced apple scented with orange and cinnamon baked in pastry served with vanilla bean ice cream. Good crispy pastry, the apple is kind of sour but still tolarable.
Valrhona Dark Chocolate Fondant (IDR 70.000): Oven-baked chocolate melt served with hazelnut ice cream. The one dessert that you can find in almost every restaurants in Jakarta. Immigrant’s is rich,perfectly baked and the vanilla ice cream on the side is superb.
Mini Trio Fondant (IDR 95.000): Three mini version of the choco fondant with three different flavors: XO and Valrhona dark chocolate; hazelnut and amaretto; orange and coffee, served with two flavors of ice creams: coffee and rhum. Each has it’s distict flavor but personally, like the second one the least because the smell is too strong for me.
