After numerous visits to this one of a kind cafe Biku on each of my visit to Bali, I can’t help referring to it as cake and dessert haven since their desserts are truly to die for. Biku, situated on petitenget road, Seminyak, was always crowded with visitors whenever I dropped by. Its interior is a blend of old Indonesia and a bit of modern touch since the building is practically a joglo turned into a homey cafe and bookstore.
Biku’s food menu includes some traditional Indonesian and Balinese specialities, and some International favourites. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. One of their popular selection was the High Afternoon Tea and I, for one, wouldn’t miss that for the world. I mean it quite literally, since one time I forcefully squeezed my time to try the afternoon tea here 30 minutes before my boarding time. Luckily the traffic was on my side and I made it to the airport just on time. Phew…
Anyway, the sandwich, scones, quiche and some sweet treats on the Traditional Afternoon Tea are the perfect companion for tea time. It was worth it. I also try several cakes, juices and coffee. As expected, everything did not disappoint.
Decisively, I would recommend anyone visiting Bali to at least drop by for their desserts if you do not have the luxury of time. The ambiance plus the dessert and coffee created a magical feeling of being in a relaxing secluded place.
