The Foundry On 8 is a new restaurants/shops row settled on the heart of SCBD area. From the outside, the place doesn’t look much,but as I stepped in, Wilshire was surprisingly spacey. The private room with beautiful mosaic wall caught my eye right away. And as I went inside, I fell head over heels with the sophisticated interior along with green plants and hanging brass chandeliers. The range of food here is very diverse.  You can find Soto, Quesadillas, even Foei Gras in the menu.

Portobello Fries (IDR 99.000): Sliced beer battered Portobello served with tartar sauce. I’m a big mushroom lover and this one is a winner! Perfectly marinated Portobello, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside.

Garlic Noodles with Tiger Prawns (IDR 165.000): Stir fried garlic noodles with large tiger prawns. Delicious simple Asian style fried noodle.

Slow Cooked 55 Degree Beef (IDR 275.000): 24 hour slow cooked Wagyu short rib served with Truffled mashed potato, grilled corn, and mushroom Bordelaise. The meat was wonderfully prepared, not too salty but perfect to be eaten with the salty mushroom. It’s delicious.

Seared CodFish (IDR 190.000): Pan seared Cod fish with grilled eggplant, corn and Tamarind reduction. Love the simple sauce that brought out the freshness of the fish.

Alcoholic Varlhona Tiramisu with Rum and Raisin Ice Cream (IDR 109.000): Lady fingers soaked in Rum and Espresso, served in between layers of  whipped Mascarpone cheese, topped with Varlhona cocoa powder. For such expensive price tag, this dessert was just ok but wasn’t worth the RP.

Honeycomb cake (IDR 65.000): Sponge cake layered with crunchy honeycomb crumbles. The cake was dry and the cream smelled like the inside of the fridge. It’s just a disappointment.
