The very much anticipated Union – Pondok Indah Mall has finally opened, and I was keen to try on the new and original masterpieces of the local celebrity duo Andhika Maxi and Karen Carlotta. The first thing that was noticeable about the restaurant was the long line of pastry display in front. The Union Plaza Senayan’s was nothing compare to this one. The restaurant was also more spacey, with it’s sleek and classic interior bathed in natural light, the Union PIM kept it’s familiar hip and classy atmosphere.



Crab and Pork Sausage Angel Hair pasta with garlic lobster oil (IDR 80.000): Delicious pasta,with a need of a pinch of salt to my taste.

Scallop Aglio Olio (IDR 80.000): Seared Scallop aglio olio, spaghetti, garlic confit and chili. One of the best pasta I’ve found in Jakarta. The seasoning was perfection,the pasta was al dente and the scallops was cooked to perfection.

Pizza Mushroom (IDR 125.000): Porcini, and Chanterelle mushrooms with truffle oil. Love the thin pizza crust, although it’s delicious, they went a little overboard on the salt.



Red Velvet Cake (IDR 55.000): Still Union’s original favorite.

Nastar Crumble (IDR 55.000): An incredible melting pot of Indonesian and international dessert. A thick crunchy and soft crumble cake with pineapple jam in between. It’s an explosion in your mouth.

Dulce de Leche Flaky Doughnut (IDR 45.000): Another version of the so called ‘Cronut’, with condensed milk topping and icecream on the side. It’s crunchy, rich, delicious and over the top. Might be too sweet for some people.
