There was so much buzz about JJ Royal Bistro that made me so curious about this place. I visited the newest branch which is in Senayan City mall. My first impression of it was that it has colorful and fun interior. The main attraction were the cute China anime-like characters on the furniture and walls. It creates it’s own unique theme that’s both cheerful and peculiar. I think with so many food to choose from, I’ll need to revisit this place again in the future cause today’s choices wasn’t the best ones and might not created the best review about this place. And speaking from experience,it might not be fair to judge a restaurant by it’s first visit.
Caesar salad (IDR 65.000): Romaine lettuce, avocado, cherry tomatoes, soft boiled egg, pine nuts, pork bacon, parmesan croutons and caesar dressing. With Crispy chicken(+IDR 75.000). The salad was okay, good dressing and quality ingredients,I like the juicy chicken too.
Spicy Crispy Chicken Burger (IDR 85.000): Deep fried breaded chicken breast, melted cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, mayonnaise, homemade sesame bun served with french fries. To tell you the truth,it wasn’t the best chicken burger I’ve tasted. The bun was dry,so was the fried chicken.
The Animal Pizza (IDR 135.000): Homemade meatballs, bacon, pepperoni, smoked chicken, Wagyu beef, mozzarella cheese, tomato sauce. The thin crust pizza was wet,it kinda gross me out, although the taste was okay.
Prawn Linguine Aglio Olio (IDR 85.000): Fresh prawns, pine nuts, crunchy ebi, garlic, chilli flakes and chopped parsley. The taste was fine but I was so disappointed that the pasta was extremely overcooked.
Boston Cream Cronuts (IDR 35.000): Nicely looking cronut with generous chocolate coating and delicious creamy filling.
Mary (IDR 35.000): White chocolate cheesecake, almond sable, ivory glaxe and fresh berries. Not a fan of this cheesecake. It was nothing out of the ordinary.
