I am quite certain many brunch regulars would agree with me that menus with eggs as their heros are mandatory for a good brunch.

Therefore, once I heard about Hatched, the first thing came to my mind is how good their eggs menu would be. Between my packed schedules on the trip, I found the time to squeeze a visit there.

Hatched’s simple industrial interior reminded me of a university cafetaria… kinda. Probably because it is located near a school or university.

Since I didn’t get much time, I ordered Burly Benedict with one egg (S$ 13) – English muffin, topped with corned beef, poached egg & Mornay sauce, served with sauteed potatoes and Papillote (S$ 16) – Smoked salmon folded over scrambled eggs on toast, topped with sour cream, served with sauteed potatoes.

Truthfully, I was not impressed with the food. It is a surprise, since I heard a lot of rave reviews from brunch lovers. However, it might probably just a hiccup on the kitchen side. Anyway, if you’re an egg enthusiast, you can find a lot of egg menu there whether it’s poached, scrambled, sunny side up etc and they serve it all day long.
