With the outgrowing numbers of dessert and pastries places in Jakarta, Cacaote might be one of the most talked about brand new places. What I found alluring about it was the patisserie selection right in front of the entry way. The interior itself was classic shabby chic, meets European style. Nice for a high tea and very homey.
Chicken Caesar Salad (IDR 75.000): Poached egg, crispy beef bacon, Pecorino. Love the tasty dressing, very good quality of greens,nice poached egg,but I was disappointed of the medium rare chicken.
House Cured Salmon (IDR 95.000): Pickled beet root, soft quail egg, capers salsa, avocado mousse. Delicious and tasty salmon.
Classic French Onion Soup (IDR 70.000): Emmental and Gruyere, croutons. A little too salty for my liking. But overall was delicious.
Black Mussels A La Mariniere (IDR 150.000): Toasted baquette, garlic Aioli. Beautifully cooked mussels with rich creamy taste.
Lobster Risotto (IDR 100.000): Charred baby leeks, Lobster emulsion, citrus powder. Such tiny lobsters. The risotto was tangy and quite tasty.
Duck Confit (IDR 130.000): Duck fat potato, spiced red cabbage, shallot jus. Delicious dish, wonderful presentation.
Chargrilled Angus Steak (IDR 230.000): Average steak with nothing to brag about.
Seared Lemon Sole (IDR 115.000): Olive Oil potato puree, Zucchini ‘Spaghetti’, Orange Grenobloise. Fresh fish, good seasoning.
Papardelle of Duck Ragout (IDR 85.000): Cured duck, artichoke, Pecorino. Tasty al dente pasta.
Lobster “Po’ Boy” Sandwich (IDR 95.000): with Potato chips and cucumber Remoulade. The lobster was marinated well, delicious sauce. Nice tasty bun too.
Braised Spring Chicken (IDR 85.000): Baby Bok Choy, pickled ginger,hainam rice. The chicken was just average taste but the rice was delicious.
Beef Bourguignon (IDR 145.000): Forest mushrooms, baby carrot, Pilaf rice. Stew prepared with beef braised in red wine and beef broth,flavored in garlic, onions and bouquet gami, with pearl onions and mushrooms.
Taleggio Pizza (IDR 95.000): Mushroom puree, Creme Fraiche, Basil. Extra thin,crispy pizza with amazing tantalizing toppings.
Vanilla Eclair (IDR 35.000): Good but the filling was a bit runny.
Salted Caramel Eclair (IDR 35.000): This is the best for me. Love the caramel coating with just the right salt to give it a spark in your mouth.
Plaisir Sucre (IDR 40.000): Crispy Almond layer, Hazelnut Dacquoise, crunchy Feulletine, Dark chocolate ganache, Chocolate chantily and chocolate plaque.
Passion Fruit and Milk (IDR 40.000): Pretty looking cake with fragrant mousse and delectable crunchy bottom layer.
Cacaote (IDR 50.000): Chocolate sable, sticky caramelized nuts, chocolate sponge, milk chocolate cream, dark chocolate mousse and chocolate glaze. All kinds of chocolate in one cake. Too sweet to my taste.
Raspberry Macaroon (IDR 45.000): Just an average Raspberry macaroon.
Dark & White (IDR 50.000): Chocolate sable, chocolate cremeux, chocolate jelly, chocolate sponge, white chocolate mousse, chocolate glaze.
Chocolate Tart (IDR 40.000): Chocolate sable, baked chocolate cream, chocolate glaze, nougatine, caramel mousse, chocolate velvet.
Berry Eclair (IDR 35.000): Choux pastry, berry cream, berry jam, berry Chantily.
