There’s not many places in Jakarta that could take your breath away. This restaurant was already interesting at day time, but Mezzanine, Moovina was transformed into an even magnificent place at night time. The beautifully lighted eatery, fascinates me in every aspect..from the tiny detailed of the table settings, to the huge open kitchen in plain view. The place was obviously designed to create a new experience in fine dining. And may I say, they’ve done a great job on it. They also have bar and lounge area on the other side of the restaurant, which also has an intriguing design. But how about the food?

The concept of French Vietnamese fusion was very interesting to me. The service was really good, fast and efficient. I started my meal with:

Chevre Chaud (IDR 85.000): Warm goat cheese on toast, mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, and walnut dressing. Very light salad, strong goat cheese.

Feuillette D’Escargots (IDR 70.000) : Sauteed snails in provencale style with tomato sauce and aioli, served in puff pastry puff. Deliciously cooked snails (without the gross look of the shells) in yummy tomato sauce and even delicious puff pastry.

Rumsteak (IDR 145.000): Australian grain fed thin sliced rump steak 160 g. Comes with either fries or mixed salad. This steak was juicy and perfectly cooked.

Entrecote Au Tamarin (IDR 310.000): Spicy tamarind US Rib eye Steak 220 g. Fantastic steak, uniquely tasted sauce which is sweet and spicy, but really works with the juicy steak.

Cheesecake Souffle (IDR 55.000): Love the idea of a cheesecake souffle with blueberry sauce and cookie on the side, even more in love with the taste.

Pavlova (IDR 50.000): Crisp meringue with lemon sherbet, seasonal fruits and passion fruit coulis. Beautiful presentation, love the taste too.

I can’t say more about this place because I haven’t try the other dishes. But today,Mezzanine, Moovina delivered an unforgettable experience, and I’ll be sure to come back for more.

  1. I love reading your blog, especially the reviews about new eating places. I recommend you to visit Beatrice Quarters in Pantai Indah Kapuk. They offer a good variety of french food with a fancy place where you can hang out.
