When you hear the name Cork & Screw, what’s the first thing that came to your mind? Wine! And that’s exactly what this restaurant wants..to attract all the wine lovers out there. This place offers large selection of wines from all over the world. Beside that, it also provides Western & Asian menus for us to enjoy. I went to the Plaza Indonesia’s branch, with a couple of my friends for lunch. The inside of the restaurant was very cozy, vases of fresh red roses greeted us in front of the door, the tables were placed beside the large window over looking the Bundaran Hotel Indonesia Fountain. It’s a nice spot to hang out despite the all smoking area.
Here are the things that we ordered:
Tofu Salad: Fried breaded tofu with veggies & sweet & sour dressing. Great vegetarian dish to start with.
Spinach Cream Soup: Light & fulfilling at the same time, served in a perfect- crunchy outside, soft inside- bread bowl.
Aglio Olio with Smoked Beef: This is the least of my favorite. The pasta was tasteless & boring.
Tuna Melt sandwich on a Croissant: Nothing to brag about.
Beef Cheek Bourguignon : Beef cherk Bourguignon with beef bacon and truffled mushroom potato. I like the taste and the texture of this dish.
Nasi Campur : Indonesian mix rice with fried chicken and beef steak satay. Delicious and can’t get enough of the sambal.
Apple Pie : Apple pie with caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream. Love the pie crust,it has the right crunchiness and the filling was good too.
Triple Chocolate Melt: Three mini cakes (milk, dark,& white chocolate melts) with a pool of custard sauce. It’s a great dessert to be shared with.
