This steak restaurant is located in Grand Indonesia Shopping Mall. For a US chain restaurant, I had high expectation for the quality of the food, too high for it’s own good maybe. We ordered the Mozarella sticks, Potato Salad, Mushroom balls and Onion Rings for the appetizers. I tried the Mozarella Sticks and it was really good. Nice chewy stretchy tasty mozarella cheese. But the Onion Rings.. it just didn’t live up to my expectation. The rings were dry..too dry..and the fried coating was somewhat Weird. It tasted more like Pisang Goreng Kalimantan (Kalimantan Fried Banana), rather than real American Onion Rings. The Mushroom Balls were even more horrible! It smells really bad until I asked the waitress to just take it away. When the salad came, I didn’t feel like trying it, cause the color was unconvincing. But it proved me otherwise. The mustard & mayo dressing were just right & refreshing, but it tasted more like Dutch style salad rather than Potato Salad. The good news is the StLeak were Good. We ordered: Sirloin, New Yorker & Ladies Steak. They were juicy & satisfying, served with coleslaw & your choice of potato (not good quality potatos if you don’t mind me saying). The Roasted Chicken was just so so..the chicken wasn’t really marinated long enough, to tell the truth. But the worse was the Chicken Cordon Bleu. The fried coating and the chicken itself seems to be in a bad relationship. It didn’t stick together like it suppossed to be which was very disappointing. It felt like you’re eating chicken with detachable shells. So my conclusion on this restaurant is: Just Stick with the Steaks & Ribs. The other things on the menus are just plain BLAH.
