My recent food adventure was at Veranda Hotel, across Pakubuwono Residence. I guess the love for browsing around social media and other people’s posts comes naturally for a food blogger. That’s where I found out about Wyl’s Kitchen and feel the urge to go there. Veranda Hotel is a boutique hotel and the restaurant is located just on their lobby floor. I always like the bright naturally lit eatery, especially with all white surroundings like this one. The place is clean looking, feels like home and perfect for large parties luncheon. The variety of the menu ranges from local to International cuisine. The service was kind of slow but still attentive considering how busy the place was with arisan and mostly ladies gathering.
Here’s the list of the food I’ve sampled today:
Angus Beef Burger (IDR 55.000): Beef patty with veggie, cheese and black buns, served with french fries. The Angus beef was salty and flavorful, nicely paired with the soft black buns.
Chicken Teriyaki Teissoku (IDR 60.000): Chicken leg with Teriyaki sauce, salad and steam rice. Wasn’t a fan of the flat Teriyaki sauce.
Bolognese Meatball (IDR 75.000): This Spaghetti and meatball pasta has nice seasonings, the meatballs were dry, overall just so-so dish.
Half Roasted Garlic Honey Chicken (IDR 75.000): Baby chicken, mix mushroom, asparagus, mash potato and orange sauce. The chicken was delicious, tender, deep flavored and the side dishes was a delight too.
Sambal Matah Tiger Prawn Fried Rice (IDR 50.000): Fried rice, prawn, sambal matah, egg, pickle, and shrimp crackers. Love this dish. The seasonings were spot on, it’s fragrant and spicy and all good.
Bread Butter Pudding (IDR 55.000): This bread butter pudding was really dry on the outside, but the inside part was alright. Wasn’t the best one I’ve had but just okay.
Flourless Cake (IDR 50.000): Flourless chocolate cake with ice cream on top. Very sweet, the quality and taste was mediocre.
Was I impressed by Wyl’s Kitchen? I think it was alright for that price range and an alternate fun place for your next party place.
