The Goods Cafe – Closed & Moved

Author: Posh Eater

I got the chance to try on the Goods Cafe in Plaza Indonesia last week. It’s my first time being here but I wasn’t surprise to see that the restaurant was fully booked knowing how famous this place has become. Located inside the Goods Department, this simple establishment forms a relaxing atmosphere with Blackboard walls and wooden furnitures which accesorize the place. The menu are quite the same as The Goods Diner, but with more variety. I decided to try on the chef’s recommendations such as:

Portabella Fries with Pesto Aioli (IDR 35.000) : Fried Portabella mushrooms with Pesto Aioli (dipping sauce made from basil, garlic, lemon juice, egg yolks, parmesan cheese). A healthier version of french fries and didn’t lack in taste too. Love the sour and salty dipping sauce. Perfect for snacking.

Tomato Soup with Grilled Cheese (IDR 45.000): a classic combo of tomato soup paired with a gooey grilled cheese sandwich, made with crispy golden-brown walnut raisin bread. Fresh homemade tomato soup, in need of a touch of salt.

Pesto Barley Risotto (IDR 55.000): Julianne Pork Bacon (sub beef bacon), fried potato skin. This Italian dish tasted great, mixed lentil and rice with not too creamy sauce with a touch of mint flavor.

Coffee Rubbed Burger (no bacon (IDR 55.000), double (IDR 95.000): Anomali coffee rub burger patty, bacon, BBQ sauce, emmenthal cheese, parmesan fries and salad. Juicy thick burger. Good quality of beef patty, delicious burger buns.

The dissapointing part was that the dessert was very limited in this place. They run out of rainbow cake before noon. And my sweet tooth wasn’t quite happy. Beside that, the food was good, the price was affordable. Great place to have lunch with your friends.
