Socieaty – Plaza Indonesia Jakarta

Author: Posh Eater

Le Amis is a well known and established restaurant group from Singapore. Some of their restaurants (among so many) that you might have known are Aoki, NamNam Noodle Bar, Les Amis and Shabu Shabu Gen. Their recent expansion in Indonesia is Socieaty, a newly opened eatery that took up the spot next to Chandara restaurant. European and Asian food is the concept, as well as the blend of a few of their Singapore eateries in one: Italian trattoria from La Strada, French eatery Bistro  du Vin, Spanish themed La Taperia and Cakes from Tarte Bakery. It’s literally a combination of 4 success stories in one place, and a wonderful news for us who get to try all of it right here in our own back yard,so to speak.

My impression of Society’s is that it doesn’t disappoint. Cozy booths and table seatings, relaxed atmosphere, too bad the friendly staffs were obviously still a little confused with what they are doing, in fact, one of my order never show up. Enough saying, these are the ones that I’ve got to try today:

S1a

Spicy Chicken Quesadilla (IDR 148.000): Tender chicken thigh marinated with Sriracha and Tomato sauce, Bell pepper, Pineapple, Onion, Mozzarella and Parsley. The  filling was good, but I wasn’t fond of the thick tortilla wrap.

S6a

Garlic Chili Prawn (IDR 148.000): Prawn, Garlic Chili, Parsley. Good fragrant prawn, needed more salt for my taste.

S8a

French Onion Soup (IDR 75.000): French onion soup gratinated with Gruyere cheese and Crouton est. Bistro dunVin. I fell in love at the first bite. The soup had the right thickness, enough onions to chew on although not enough melted cheese for me. The soup was bursting with flavor and had an extra acidity that’s satisfying.

S9a

Gamberi Arrabiata (IDR 175.000): Although it looks ordinary, the pasta was light, the prawns were succulent and the tomato sauce was real and delicious.

S3a

Alle Vongole (IDR 85.000): Linguine, Venus clams in White wine, garlic, chili, Parsley. Al dente spaghetti and you could taste the freshness of the clams by the natural juice that came out when you chew on it. The wine sauce was also delicious.

S4a

Truffle Carbonara Pasta (IDR 228.000): Chittara pasta, Truffle scented Beurre Blanc, Crispy Parma Ham, Egg Confit and Shaved Parmesan. Super creamy pasta with strong Truffle flavor.

S2a

Roasted Chicken (IDR 128.000/Half): Pan-roasted Half chicken with Asian spices, potato, garlic fine bean. The chicken was tender and seasoned so well to the point of the entire meat being flavorful. Very good.

S10a

Sirloin (IDR 225.000): The Char-grilled Angus steak was somewhat ordinary, the mushroom sauce was good and the shoestring fries was a pure indulgence.

S11a

Brick Toast Strawberry (IDR 65.000): Thick fluffy bread with crunchy crust, had a really strong Honey aroma and little chocolate sauce.

S5a

Floating Island (IDR 65.000): Meringue drizzled with Vanilla sauce, candied Almond. Gorgeous looking dessert, the Meringue was frothy and sweet, the milk sauce was rich and also sweet. Delectable, but I wouldn’t recommend this for those who doesn’t like overly sweet dessert.

S12a

Hazelnut Soufflé (IDR 95.000): Very light fluffy inside and crusty on outside. Strong Hazelnut flavor, impressive dessert!

S13a

Peanut Caramel Tart ( IDR 38.000): Generous peanut and delicious salty caramel  topping, and I really dig the crisp crust, crunchy without being tough to chew.

S14a

Pistachio Tart (IDR 38.000): Had the same lovely crust, the Pistachio filling was just okay.

Overall I had a wonderful lunch at Socieaty and I really think this place has great potential. I am looking forward for a return visit and hopefully their servers will improve much by then.
