Shirayuki – Pantai Indah Kapuk PIK Jakarta

Author: Chic Eater

Pantai Indah Kapuk has been booming for quite sometime now, however it doesn’t seem that it’s going to slow down soon. One of the many cafes and restaurants that open up in that nice area of North Jakarta is Shirayuki, which was previously operating as Kabocha. I have heard a little bit about Shirayuki before I was invited by my blogger buddy to go there together, and I was quite taken by surprise on a few things I saw there, in a good way though.

This natural contemporary interior adorned with rich wall decorations has created a cool hangout place attracting adolescents, who were obviously their main target guests. Influenced by the current trend in the food and beverages industry, Shirayuki offers various menu from Japanese simple dishes to rice and pasta dishes, as well as some creative desserts.

Kushikatsu Set C (Chicken, Beef, Spicy Lotus Root, Spicy Shitake Chicken, Tomato Cheese) – These katsu skewers were delightful. As a Japanese food lover myself, I felt that the kushikatsus were properly fried and seasoned.

Salmon Cream Soup Spaghetti – Spaghetti in a creamy soup broth, served with salmon chunks and fried tempura. My my..what a nice surprise to my taste bud. The creator of this fusion style spaghetti really nailed it. I would surely have it again on my next visit.

Cabe Ijo Bianco – Spaghetti prepared and seasoned with the popular local spices of green chili (cabe ijo). Highly recommended for chili lovers.

Chicken Wings – It was nicely deep fried and sauced. Most of all, I love the crispiness of the skin and the balance of taste that it provides.

One of the signature beverages here is Kashoku Latte, a blend of nuts and grains served as an option of either ice cream or warm beverage. The other drinks were also refreshing but sorry to say that I forgot the names.

Bailey’s Kanten – As the name implies, one of the main ingredients is Bailey’s, a coffee milk based alcohol liquor. It was a winner in terms of presentation as well as serving style, as you can squeeze the jelly out into small pasta form through a wooden tools. You can pour the bailey’s into the jelly and eat it in combination with the matcha ice cream. Interesting!

Watanoki Matsuri – A blue cotton candy! What’s not to like. Loved the colour and presentation of the dessert.

Stuffed Mochi Fusion Set with Cracker – Another masterpiece from Shirayuki. Prepared with attention to look and taste.
