Pokenbir – Lippo Kuningan Jakarta

Author: Posh Eater

Have you heard of Pokenbir? It’s this restaurant in Kuningan that’s specialized in pork menu. I, myself, isn’t really a fan of pork, but I think this one worth the mention.  Reservation is very recommended for the place is usually packed. The eatery has a very simple look, so much so that I’ll just let the pictures speaks to itself. Although it’s simple, the eatery is cozy and perfect for a hearty meal. The menu is obviously contain mostly pork, but they also have some seafood choices like Nasi Goreng Cakalang.

I ordered some of the dishes that were recommended by a friend and here they are:

Pork Belly

The Pork Belly

The Pork Belly (IDR 95.000): Thick pork belly pieces with french fries, salad and chips. The pork belly was cooked well, in need of extra seasonings but the best part was the extra crispy fatty skin.

Pokenbir Mix Platter

Pokenbir Mix Platter

Pokenbir Mix Platter (IDR 110.000/S): A platter of pork satays, pork belly, two flavor marinated caramelized bacon strips (sweet and salty), and french fries. Tender flavorful bacon strips, the satays were a little tough for me, good pork belly, and not so good french fries.

Indonesia Big Pork Rice

Indonesia Big Pork Rice

Indonesia Big Pork Rice (IDR 235.000): A gigantic rice dish of variant pork dishes of Indonesian flavor with three kinds of sambals (Indonesian chili paste) and one vegetable dish. The dish were rich, nicely executed, satisfying and delicious. Absolutely recommended dish!

My trip to Pokenbir was delightful. They serve fantastic dishes, cool atmosphere and most importantly affordable price. Why don’t you give it a try?
