Just opened for approximately a week, this brand new branch of AW Kitchen by Akira Watanabe has undoubtedly served many visitors of Grand Indonesia. Located on level 2, just beside Fred Perry boutique, AW Kitchen offers several product selections, such as Pasta, Seafood, Steak, Rack of Lamb, and so forth.
Yellowtail and Salmon Tartar (IDR 75k) – Fresh Norwegian Salmon and Japanese Yellowtail in tartar sauce, topped with fish roe. It’s a great way to start a dinner. The salmon and yellow tail, served cold, were both fresh and refreshing drizzled in a balanced-taste tartar sauce. An utterly enjoyable appetizer! Must try.
Spaghettini in Garlic Oil with Spicy Cod Roe and Japanese Mushrooms (IDR 168k) – It’s an AW Kitchen’s specialty dish. The pasta, in the form of spaghetti, was prepared and cooked just right. It was a bit salty for me probably coming from the cod roe that I mixed together before the meal. You can decide to put some of the cod roe aside before mixing it since it was put on top of the pasta together with the other ingredients.
From the ‘Catch of the day’ section of the menu, I chose Barammundi with balsamic teriyaki sauce (IDR 145k) – The barammundi was fresh and cooked properly served on a bed of spinach, and plated with varieties of veggies like shiitake mushrooms, greenbeans, broccoli and tomatoes. The balsamic teriyaki sauce is perfect if you like it on the sweet side.
Overall, I can appreciate the quality of service and food delivered in this establishment and savour the dining experience that it provided.
