As a member of Accor Hotels loyalty programme, I have quite a few experience with their hotels both overseas and in Indonesia. Each of their hotel lines were positioned well and suitably offered for each of the targeted guests. Even in this small yet beautiful city of flower, Accor has a number of hotels to offer. One of them is Novotel Hotel, which is located right within the city central area.
This 4-star hotel, within minutes drive to dago and riau tourism spots as well as to the shopping district of cihampelas street, was one of the early comers before the hotel and hostel boom of Bandung as the city’s tourism was flourishing. The simple uncluttered hotel exterior has proven to be immune to the ravages of time.
When I arrived there, I parked the car on the street level ground floor and took an elevator up to the lobby. To get to the lobby, I walked through the dining area located on the same floor. Checking in, I went straight to my hotel room to get myself settled in.
Complimentary fruits were always a good idea on a hotel stay. It would automatically get a plus point from me as I love fruits. The room was tidy and would be considered to be adopting minimalist interior style. The room size itself of the bed area and bath area are decent for a Superior Room with king size bed. It was cosy and roomy.
As I probed on their facilities and amenities, I stumbled upon their Gym and Pool area. The gym has a rather complete set of tools for both cardio and weight training such as treadmills, cyclists, and others. I could say that it was providing more than the usual hotel gym. Later on, I found out that it was managed as a public gym as well. No wonder.
The pool, despite its size, offer adequate privacy and enjoyment for hotel guests.
As in any hotel stay, the breakfast is an integral part of the stay and the overall experience. An unsatisfactory breakfast can damage the whole experience. During the stay, I got a chance to try its breakfast buffet as well as several ala carte menus during lunch time. The breakfast offered various dishes from light snacks, porridge, cereals, noodles to American breakfast and some Indonesian dishes like lontong kari (rice cake in curry soup).
On another occasion during lunch time, I ordered a few ala cartes from their menu. Overall, the menu was alright and fulfilling.
I enjoyed the whole hotel stay escapade from the room, the service and the breakfast. If any of you visiting Bandung and was looking for a hotel that gives you a good value for your money, I would recommend Novotel Hotel Bandung.
