Moi Bistro Gunawarman Jakarta

Author: Posh Eater

This tiny restaurant looks small from the outside, but the inside is pretty spacey. The first thing I’ve noticed was the colorful mural on the wall illustrating Vietnamese culture, the other eye catching details are the red painted tables and the intricate floor tiles , lovely distraction for a simple yet ethnic eatery. The idea of East meets West is quite intruiging, especially the mix of Vietnamese and French cuisine. They also kept some authentic dishes in check.

Papaya Salad (IDR 45.000): Authentic Vietnamese papaya salad. The shredded young papaya was crisp and fresh, too bad the dressing was bland and boring.

Escargot Au Pesto (IDR 50.000): Escargot served with pesto. The pesto herb was good but escargot wasn’t marinated well enough for my taste.

Pho Raw US Meat (IDR 125.000): Vietnamese Pho noodle soup with US beef slice. The soup here is clear and has a hint of red color. The noodle was fantastic, very thin, soft and easy to eat. Although the soup was tasteless. The beef was tender and delightful.

Grill Dory (IDR 85.000): Grill Dory fish served with dill sauce and potato gratin. My favorite dish of all. The fish fillet was tasty with delicious outer crust. The creamy sauce has the perfect acidity to it and the potato gratin was delicious too.

Choux a la Creme (IDR 55.000): Choux French ball filled with ice cream. The waitress was honest enough to let me know that the Choux ball wasn’t homemade. It was okay but I had better.
