My visit to Melbourne last month took me to experience several exceptional coffee shops and one of them was Market Lane Coffee. Having stayed at Mercure Hotel on Therry St, we were only 2-3 minutes walking distance away from Queen Victoria Market, where just across the street from it, you can find Market Lane Coffee.
Occupying a small one-storey space with white brick walls and steel-framed glass door and window in the front, this outlet of Market Lane surely caters to many QVM visitors as well as home and office residents around North Melbourne CBD.
As I came by in the morning, there are several visitors already queuing to order coffee by the counter with a three-groups coffee machine by La Marzocco set ready to work hand in hand with the baristas to make coffee and satiate everyone’s cravings. Most people were standing as there are only few seating spots.
I ordered the usual Hot Cappuccino with their blend of the day and satisfied my own yearning for good cup of coffee. After a few sips and gulps, I did enjoy the humble experience there. The cappuccino was medium-bodied with a bit on the acidity side. I love the texture and taste of the coffee here.
My first coffee since I landed in this Australia’s garden city was enjoyable to say the least. The visit was pleasing with friendly barista serving good coffee to start my day as I started exploring this hipster-ish beautiful city.
