If you are a hardcore coffee lover in Indonesia, you might be familiar to Koffie Warung Tinggi. As one of the oldest coffee company in indonesia, this family owned business has a notable reputation since it was established in 1878.
When I heard that they’ve opened the new shop in Grand Indonesia Mall, I took the time to ‘investigate’. The place itself was cozy, simple and have separated area of smoking and non smoking.A good place to spend hours enjoying your coffee. Because of the self service (with only one cashier ready while I was there) it took more time to order.Otherwise the helpful waiters were quite attentive.
Bakmie Ayam (IDR 40.000) : Chinese Indonesian style dry noodle with shredded chicken on top and soup on the side. The noodle was just average. It wasn’t memorable.
Nasi Goreng Kampung (IDR 48.000) :Fried rice with fried egg on top, kerupuk(crackers) and acar (salad) on the side.It was tasteless.
Martabak Manis Plain mini with Nutella and Cheddar Cheese (IDR 35.000): The cute single size Indonesian pancake was thin, fluffy, not too greasy if you compared it with the original ones the sell on the street. The topping was delicious, overall…I like it very much.
Martabak Manis Plain Mini with Toblerone (IDR 30.000) :This one was a bit thicker than the previous one.But it’s slighty sweeter. It’s yummy.
Coffee Peranakan 8oz. (IDR 30.000): Similar to ‘Kopi Tubruk’ (Indonesian style coffee where coarse coffee grounds are boiled along with solidsugar, resulting in a thick drink similar to Turkish coffee).
Coffee Jantan/Peaberry (IDR 50.000): Koffie Warung Tinggi’s signature coffee with a Vacuum Coffee Brewer method. A more traditional way to brew your coffee. The coffee itself tasted very strong, mostly suitable for male, which what the name ‘Jantan’ was originated from.
