J.Sparrow’s – Noble House Building Jakarta

Author: Posh Eater

What is the first thing that you think off when you hear the name ‘J. Sparrow’ ? Might be the same thing like me, Jack Sparrow from the movie Pirates of the Caribbean. This new restaurant with the catchy name is located in Noble House building, Mega Kuningan. Easy access being in the lobby, and looks elegant at first sight. The interior is quite extravagant, with emphasis on the curved ceiling that reminded me of the old Cathedral architectural. The other part restaurant, which is the semi outdoor part is also eye catching. Like the most restaurants around the area, this place also has lots of selection of wine and cocktails.

Their menu also has plenty of crustacean and Indonesian dishes. Let’s take a dive in J. Sparrow’s world.

I ordered based on the waiter’s recommendation which are:

Crab

Crab Risotto Fritter

Crab Risotto Fritter (IDR 50.000): Crab meat, cream cheese, Parmesan and spicy Aioli. Crunchy fried risotto with tasty crab and rice filing.

Tagliattelle

Tagliattelle Prawns

Homemade Tagliattelle Prawns Al Limon (IDR 115.000): Tagliattelle, prawns, black olives, garlic, chili flakes, and white wine. The pasta is disappointingly clumpy and gummy. Such a shame thinking how good the sauce and seasoning actually is.

Paella

Paella de Marisco

j10

Paella de Marisco (IDR 185.000): Mix seafood, Arborio rice, Saffron juice, paprika, green peas, onion, hard boiled egg. A very popular Spanish dish, this one has plenty of seafood. The grains are a touch overcooked for my taste, with mediocre flavor.

I wish I can say I love the food as much as I like the atmosphere. J. Sparrow few dishes that I tried didn’t really impress much, but this is only based on my personal taste and first time visit.
