Ippudo Ramen – Singapore

Author: Posh Eater

As soon as you see the Ippudo ramen restaurant in Mandarin Gallery Singapore, you’ll know that this isn’t your ordinary cheap -street ramen- restaurant. The fancy looking restaurant, with all wooden furniture Japanese style mixed with modern interior, tickled my curiosity even more…What makes this ramen place such a favorite, especially among the many Indonesian who came here often?

I ordered the Ippudo Salad (S$12.00) as the appetizer: Fresh garden greens served with Ippudo’s original Japanese-style dressing. Love the touch of crunchy fried shallots on the top.

Akamaru Shinaji (S$16.00): Ippudo’s original tonkotsu broth enhanced with special blended miso paste and fragrant garlic oil. Served with thin noodles, buta bara (pork belly), kikurage and spring onions. A refined, modern-style ramen.

Shiromaru Motoaji (S$ 15.00): Ippudo’s original tonkotsu broth served with thin noodles, rosu chashu (pork loin), cabbage, kikurage and spring onions. Classic Hakata-style ramen. (add Kakuni/ pork cubes S$5.00)

The noodle could be cook as your wish: soft, medium, or hard. I think the one thing that made this place special was the noodle itself. The texture and taste was really outstanding, plus the broth was really flavorful and rich. In the other hand, it could seem kinda fatty for those of you who are health conscious.

My first visit to Ippudo has got me to believe that it’s a fantastic place to have a delicious meal of good quality ramen. Maybe you should go and find it out for yourself the next time you come to Singapore. 🙂
