When you hear the name Hakata Ikkousha, it might remind you of their first outlet in Jakarta opened in 2011, located at Jl. Muara Karang, which has now already been moved to Pantai Indah Kapuk area. It was mostly crowded with Hakata ramen’s enthusiast everyday. Since then, they have grown to 4 locations in Jakarta, 2 locations in Surabaya and one latest venture in Bandung.
Visiting their branch in Bandung, obviously with an expectation of Hakata Ramen in pork broth, I was rather astounded when I found out that they don’t serve pork in this particular outlet. They customized their menu for the bandung Ikkousha.
I decided to order two of their chicken ramen and their gyoza plate:
Ramen Ayam Spesial (IDR 55.000) and Ramen Ayam Syou Tam Tam (IDR 58.000).
Both ramen bowls lived up to Ikkousha’s reputation. The broth was thick with strong chicken stock flavor and the noodles’ toughness was just right.
It was probably a matter of preference. I like the original ramen with pork better. I feel it has a more balanced taste between the noodle and the broth. But I’ll leave it up to you to decide. In the meantime, I’d like to say welcome Ikkousha to Bandung’s culinary world. 🙂
