Ginger Moon – Seminyak Bali

Author: Chic Eater

Ginger Moon, perched right in the middle of the busiest area of Kerobokan Bali, located between Rumours and Cafe Bali, came to my attention during a laid back trip I had a while ago. It turned out to be a lovely experience that I would not soon forget.

From the first moment I entered the venue, I fell in love with the whole interior concepts. It was sophisticated and yet warm. It was hard to explain.

I also found out that this is another restaurant that can be reserved through

It’s a place where they understand the importance of good table setting. The placemat, napkin, utensils as well as plate and glass were set nicely on each table. As you can see, it can bring up the experience of a lunch or a dinner session.

Before we move on to the food they served here at Ginger Moon, I would like to positively comment on the plating and details on the table that they put to make the dining experience whole.

Bali Nachos (IDR 68k) – spiced chicken, sambal, herbs, lime, avocado, and crackers. I did not expect the presentation of the nachos to be this attractive and refreshing.  I love the sour fresh taste from the lime and avo combined with the chicken and herbs.  A truly creative interpretation of nachos.

Pot Stickers Dumpling (IDR 45k) – roast duck and hoi sin.  The meat was tender and juicy. The dumpling was another delight to start the dining session.

Perkedel Jagung (Corn Fritters) with avocado, sweet chilli and sour cream (IDR 35k). I am impressed on how they turned a dish as regular as perkedel jagung into something more.

One from the half moon steamed buns category that we ordered was Crumbed Barramundi (IDR 75k) served with slaw and curry aioli. Nice presentation all around. Good dish as well.

Soft shell crab salad (IDR 82k) – watermelon, beng kwang, cucumber, pomelo, lime, chilli. Another salad that I would not miss if I ever visit this cafe again.

BBQ Chicken Pizza (IDR 75k) – with pineapple, mozzarella, coriander and fried shallots. A good choice for pizza lovers.

Beautiful beverages to accompany a nice meal are a must. Ginger Moon offers a vast array of cocktail drinks. We had a few that we thought we would like.

Crazy Ivan (IDR 105)

Bling Bling (IDR 105)

Red Dragon (IDR 140)

Ping Pong (IDR 140) – This one with a lychee ball at the bottom, was a sure winner according to my palate. The use of champagne as the basic ingredients must be the reason.

Creme Brulee Trilogy (IDR 42) – pandan, ginger mango and black sesame.  I am always a fan of creme brulee for desserts. This time is no exception. I ordered the trilogy to satisfy my cravings. You got three flavours of your favourite items, what more can a girl wants.

Bali has so many great cafe and restaurants, but to be excellent you need to have the x-factor. And I believe Ginger Moon owns the x-factor required to survive in the harsh competition of the seminyak dining scene. I would surely love to visit it again to enjoy bali dining.
