A friend of mine told me about this homemade bakery in Plaza Indonesia that made a delicious red velvet cake, as a dessert freak I was curious to try it. The small bakery was inside a dinnerware store, so it might be tricky to find. Cute interior with see-through seats, big windows and mirrors screams ‘High Tea Time’ to me. I couldn’t wait to try their pastries.
Besides red velvet cake, macaroons and carrotcakes they have a few of cupcakes, but too bad there weren’t many other pastries when I was there. The first thing that catched my attention was the Blue Velvet Cupcake (IDR 24.000). As you’ve guessed the blue velvet cake tasted just like red velvet. It was a bit dry for me, but it gets better if you eat it with the cream frosting on the top.
The clerk also suggested their signature cake which was the Bittersweet cake (IDR 38.000). Three layers of Red velvet cake, Dark chocolate cake and Milk Chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting in between and chocolate shaves on the top. The combination between the softer dark chocolate and the bulky red velvet somewhat made a nice harmony. I think this cake is worth the try.
They also offers TWG teas and coffee to accompany your tea time.
