I’ve never get tired of trying new restaurants. Especially with company of girl friends who have the same love for food like me. We went to Bistecca, the newest establishment by Union group. I was so excited after hearing such good things about this steak restaurant – even though I personally loath the self parking area in Parc building. One of the first impression I get from the place was how much it resembles Union restaurants. Very classic New York pub-style, with elevated hype into it. I also love the details, like the book shelf wall, antique displays, and the fresh flowers on the tables. It brought a touch of femininity it. If you like to throw parties, the restaurant provided not just one, but two private rooms that can be combine into one.
We sat down and ordered some of their recommended menu:
Pancetta-Wrapped Hokkaido Scallop (IDR 120.000): The scallop were cooked well, nice texture, played well with the salty bacon and spinach puree.
Kale Salad (IDR 90.000): Salad with Feta cheese, Kalamata Olives and Cashew nuts. The salad was sour and just plain boring.
Black Ink Tagliolini (IDR 220.000): Pasta with jumbo crab meat, Salmon roe and jalapeno. I expected more from this pasta, but all I get was a flat salty taste. It needed more flavoring. The only thing I enjoyed was the fresh crab meat.
Angus Tenderloin (IDR 295.000): 200 gram of Australian Black Angus beef fillet, nicely cooked, succulent but needed more seasonings.
Sauteed Mix Mushrooms (IDR 60.000): The mushrooms were delectable, strong taste. Delicious side dish.
Hand Cut Fries (IDR 85.000): Crispy fries with egg and bacon bits. Could’ve been a delicious finger food if it wasn’t for the over use of salt.
Baked Alaska (IDR 120.000): Pretty cake, nice presentation. The ice cream was good, the cake was a little dry.
Eskimo Bar (IDR 90.000): Chocolate overload! Love this one, the brownies were delicious, plus there’s the crispy caramel in between bites. Yum.
Orange Cheese Cake (IDR 70.000): Orange flavored cheese cake. Nothing to be excited about.
The trip to Bistecca was alright. Gorgeous place, nice ambience, good service, with average food. I might revisit for another taste, because speaking from experience, first trip doesn’t prove much. Stay tuned.
