One more addition to the collection of America’s lovable family restaurant in Jakarta has arrived, and I couldn’t wait to go there. Founded in 1980, this Kansas City USA based restaurant has since evolved and spreaded around the world. As much as I love American food, I also dig every chain restaurants they have and I couldn’t express how excited I was to seat in Apple Bee’s Indonesian very first ever branch.
Casual dining, which is Apple Bee’s concept, is very well interpreted on the interior if the restaurant although I think it’s still fancier than the ones in USA. The service was very friendly although kind of slow, it was still ok considering they have just opened for a few days. I’ve noticed that the menu also very much alike the original Apple Bee’s (Mexican and Western food) minus the pork dishes.
Mozzarella Sticks (IDR 109.000): Eight pieces of golden fried mozzarella sticks, served with tasty marinara sauce. They was okay, the batter has a nice thickness, the mozzarella in the middle was tasty.
Miso Shrimp Salad (IDR 119.000): Fresh Asian greens tossed in Miso-basil dressing with cucumber, tomatoes, red peppers, red onions and crunchy rice noodles. Topped with Chipotle lime seasoned shrimp. Love the sweet and sour dressing. The only thing that bothering me were the uncleaned shrimps.
Chicken Broccoli Pasta Alfredo (IDR 59.000/half portion): Grilled chicken on a warm bed of fettuccine tossed with fresh brocolli and creamy Alfredo sauce. Very creamy bland pasta.
Cowboy Burger (IDR 139.000): Burger topped with crispy onion rings, melted white cheddar cheese and smoked beef bacon. Served on a toasted bun with Honey BBQ sauce, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles. Giant size juicy burger patty, although it was (again) a little bland for my taste, eith extra yumminess from delicious crunchy sweet onion rings topping.
Chicken Fajita Roll Up (IDR 99.000): Smoky Chipotle chicken rolled in a flour tortilla with mwlted Monterey Jack and cheddar cheeses, shredded lettuce and pico de gallo. Served with Mexi-ranch dipping sauce.
Southwest Chicken BLT Pita (IDR 89.000): Grilled marinated chicken breast stuffed and rolled in a pita bread with Chipotle mayo, lettuce, beef bacon slices and topped with pico de gallo. Served with a refreshing Mexi-ranch on the side. Simple grilled chicken with almost no trace of the Chipotle sauce I adore although the pita bread was good and love the fries too.
Chocolate Chip Cookie Sundae (IDR 69.000): Chocolate chunk cookie topped with. Vanilla ice cream. Hot fudge, Oreo cookie crumbs and whipped cream. The cookie was as hard as a rock, dry as sand, the only good thing was the ice cream and whip cream toppings.
