AMUZ – Jakarta

Author: Posh Eater

This fine dining restaurant has been creating big buzz since it’s opening in 2010. If the food reminded you of Riva restaurant in Park Lane Hotel, you’re not mistaken. Chef Gilles Marx (former Riva’s executive chef) is the genius behind this masterpiece. The interior of the venue is nothing special, old style restaurant with the display few of local paintings. The only really nice spot is the private room which could seat around 10 people. But enough with the interior, here’s what I ordered the recent time I was in Amuz.

Starting with a complimentary Amuse Bouche: A slice of crispy potato chip with chopped mushrooms on top & a hint of vinegar. A small but colorful taste in your mouth.

Alaskan King Crab Salad: Cold Fresh Tangy salad with a generous portion of crab meat.

Cauliflower Veloute: Rich Lobster creamy soup  (with lobster chunks) that melts in your mouth. Perfect to be enjoyed with the warm complimentary bread.

Live Canadian Lobster with XO sauce: The best quality lobster you can find in Jakarta, with fantastic XO sauce plus the steamed potato & Rocket Salad on top makes a two thumbs up dish.

Beef Two Ways: Partly Stewed & partly Grilled US prime beef, cooked to perfection, served with soft creamy mashed potato.

Chocolate Soufflé: I’m not really a fan of the raw rough sugar on the top,but the fact that it’s really hard to actually find a good Soufflé in Jakarta, I can honestly say that this one is quite satisfying.

In conclusion, Amuz is the perfect place to indulge yourself.
